The Welding Institute’s Annual Awards and Dinner took place on 20 June 2017 at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, Cambridge, under the wings of Concorde, and with over 200 invited guests from industry and academia. The evening began with an Awards Ceremony introduced by TWI Chief Executive Dr Christoph Wiesner OBE. Steven Dearden, Paul Tooms and Prof Steve Yianni were among those presenting a series of awards in recognition of major contributions made in welding, joining and engineering related technologies:
