Last Brunel Scholarships available for 2022/2023 Cohort

Last few scholarships available, offering fully funded fees for UK and EU applicants

Only a handful of Scholarships remain with Brunel University London for the Oil & Gas Engineering, Structural Integrity (Asset Reliability Management) and Lightweight Structures and Impact Engineering MSc courses taking place at NSIRC (National Structural Integrity Research Centre) and TWI research facility, Cambridge, UK.

The courses focus on industry-led postgraduate education, conducting research that is tackling urgent problems being faced by the energy sector, automotive, aerospace, transport, shipping and many more.

These postgraduate programmes provide graduates with the skills, knowledge and training to thrive within project lead and management level positions, and are ideal for recent graduates with a career focus, as well as those currently working within industry and wish to pursue a masters to advance their career.

Oil and Gas Engineering MSc

  1. IMechE, IOM3, and The Welding Institute accredited programme provides flexibility to support your career development via CEng registration.
  2. On-site, high performance computing facility to run high fidelity and complex numerical simulation to support your dissertation project.
  3. Training in industry standard codes including Simulia ABAQUS, MATLAB, Ansys CFD, Pipesim and Olga (Sclumberger).
  4. Design oil and gas (on and offshore) structures to withstand internal loading induced by complex internal oil and gas flows and external loads, such as waves and wind.
  5. Rapidly design and commission oilfield installations, including fabrication.
  6. Systems level thinking (structure and environment) to address a wide range of complex problems.
  7. Provides specialised training in numerical, testing and inspection techniques.
  8. Codes of practice, including installation and construction aspects.
  9. Multi-phase flow and flow assurance.

Structural Integrity (Asset Reliability Management) MSc

  1. IMechE, IOM3 and The Welding Institute (TWI) accredited programme provides flexibility to support your career development via CEng registration.
  2. Study for professional qualifications in parallel with your degree (CSWIP option to meet partial registration requirements for Plant Inspection and NDT).
  3. Practical training for in-field ultrasonic thickness (UT) measurements on a full-scale pipe loop with various defects
  4. Training in industry standard software, including Simulia, ABAQUS, MATLAB and industry standard codes developed by TWI, CrackWise (fracture and fatigue assessment) and IntegrWise (fitness for service assessment for ageing equipment).
  5. Access to joint testing facilities across Brunel and NSIRC, which includes mechanical and fatigue testing under different environmental conditions, robotic welding, additive manufacturing, NDT inspection and material evaluation (through 4D tomography and microscopy facilities).
  6. On-site High Performance Computing (HPC) facilities to support experimental testing.

Lightweight Structures and Impact Engineering MSc
