We are pleased to announce that representatives from TWI will be present at the UK Metals Council’s first-ever UK Metals Expo, which is taking place at the NEC Birmingham, UK from 14-15 September 2022.
This new event has been designed to bring together the entire metals supply chain with the manufacturing and engineering sectors, including everything from primary metal manufacture and processing through to supply chain management, coatings, engineering, fabrication, machinery, recycling, and more.
TWI is also a partner at the free-to-attend event and we will have experts exhibiting on stand C24 during the expo.
In addition to exhibiting across the two days, we have speakers presenting at the event:
- TWI Industry Sector Manager for Corporate Development, Chris Wiseman will present at two sessions in the Skills, Training and Strategy theatre. Firstly, he will be part of a panel of experts speaking on, ‘Future Skills, Up-Skilling and Re-Skilling: Life-Long Learning in the Metals Sector’ on 14 September, before presenting on, ‘The Development of Training for Advanced Manufacturing’ on 15 September.
- Principal Project Leader for Technology at TWI, Stephen Cater will present on 15 September on the topic of ‘Advances in Offshore Pipeline Repairs’ in the Technology, Innovation and R&D theatre, where he will cover the current state-of-the-art in subsea pipeline repair systems.
The UK Metals Expo will be the first time that the entire industry is both represented and brought together fully under one roof, with Chris McDonald, Chair of the UK Metals Council saying, “Anyone with a career in the metals industry will want to attend, any organisations providing goods or services to this industry will want to be represented.”
