Official Representative Webinar: Making the Most of TWI Membership

This webinar will give you a thorough introduction to the Membership services, and how to interact with TWI to maximise the value of Membership to your organisation.

The webinar will cover;

  • Membership Services and how to use them effectively,
  • Introduction to TWI technology areas,
  • Making the most of information and library services,
  • Interacting with TWI on a commercial level,
  • How TWI can support you as OR to maximise the interaction within your organisation,
  • Professional Membership - supporting your staff Continuing Professional Development

Our intention is to help you achieve the maximum benefit for your organisation from TWI. The webinar will last approximately 45 minutes. We hope that you can attend this event. If you are interested in attending but cannot make this date then please let us know as we will be organising further events during the course of the year.

Paul joined TWI in 2002, working initially in Information Services for a year before moving on to stints in Technology Transfer and Business Process Services. Paul returned to Information Services in 2012 becoming Section Manager in 2017.

James Foden is an engineer by profession with a first degree in Mechanical Engineering, an M.Phil. in Materials and Metallurgy, and an EngD on technology management for aerospace applications.

James supported Rolls-Royce plc in Derby UK, on the development of various business processes for technology strategy development, prioritisation of research investment and technology readiness. He went on to work for Rolls-Royce plc in Hucknall UK, where he led a number of manufacturing capability, inspection and metrology research projects across civil and military applications, as well as research roadmapping for Combustion and Casings. His experience also extends across academia and the public sector in Malta. Over a period of eight years within a public funding body, he developed a high performing team that delivered national research policies and strategies through local and EU negotiations, implemented national research funding programmes, and led substantial internationalisation collaborations and bilateral programmes for research.

James also specialises in research concept development and expert evaluation of research proposals. He now leads the Technology Innovation Management (TIM) team, as Section Manager, overseeing a large pipeline of collaborative research proposals for TWI and the TWI Innovation Network (TWIIN).

Ian Froment - Sector Manager - Membership Development

Ian Froment is TWI's Section Manager for the Membership Development Section. as well as Industrial Membership Manager for the Power Generation and Medical Sectors.

Ian is responsible for interfacing with TWI Industrial Members in the nuclear, fossil and renewable energy sectors. Ian Froment can support direct technical enquiries as well as answer questions on TWI's membership services, ultimately maximising value for TWI.
