TWI Azerbaijan has been cooperating for a long time with various departments of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic, largely known as SOCAR . SOCAR is Azerbaijan’s fully state-owned national oil and gas company headquartered in Baku.
The company sent its employees to attend TWI’s Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) training – Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Test (PT), Ultrasonic Test (UT), and Radiographic Interpretation (RI) organized by TWI Azerbaijan in order to improve their knowledge and skills in the field of NDT and for their employees to obtain an international certificate of CSWIP.
Mansor Nooruladha one of TWI’s experienced NDT lecturers conducted the UT course and attendees were impressed with the new knowledge they acquired in the field of UT by going through this training and were happy with how they have managed to improve their knowledge considerably.
UT classes include basic principles of sound, the behavior of sound in a material, generation, and detection of sound, use of angled beam probes for weld scanning, the flaw detector, welding processes, and weld defects, and practical exercises on test specimens containing simulated flaws, instruction writing, examination of parent plate, butt welds. The course ends with the certification examination.
By the end of the course, candidates are able to calibrate ultrasonic equipment, explain the theoretical background of the techniques, locate and evaluate laminations, measure the thickness of steel plates and determine levels of attenuation, select the correct type of probe to examine welded butt joints in steel plate and aerospace components/structures, interpret code requirements and report on the location and size of defects in welded butt joints.
TWI provides international certificates in the field of NDT based on the international ISO 9712 standard issued by the international CSWIP certification body. We provide also ANDT (Advanced NDT) training such as PAUT (Phased Array Ultrasonic Inspection), ToFD (Time of Flight Diffraction) and etc.
Participation in TWI’s NDT training and examinations leads to an international certificate of CSWIP which gives you the opportunity to work anywhere in the world.
