Managing technology innovation

Technology innovation management is the intersection between strategy, technology and operations. A successful project requires the development of innovative technology together with a defined strategy to get to market, and the ability to access public funding can be a key part of a company’s innovation strategy in leveraging technological developments.

TWI has an experienced team of specialist personnel focused on securing public funded projects in engineering research and innovation. Its Technology Innovation Management team works closely with TWI’s technical experts, Industrial Members, external partners, Innovation Centres and wider TWI Innovation Network – developing concepts, building consortiums and producing quality proposals – in order to secure funding to take forward the next generation of advanced engineering technologies.

In creating the optimum project consortium, the team liaises extensively with a broad range of potential partners including SMEs, larger companies and multi-nationals, universities and research organisations. TWI engages with a number of national and international funding agencies including Horizon 2020Innovate UKEUREKAClean Sky, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
