TWI Malaysia Starts Collaboration with Ruane-TATI Sdn Bhd

An MoU between TWI Malaysia and Ruane Tati brings new training and certification opportunities to the oil and gas industry workforce of Terengganu.

On 8 September 2020, TWI Technology (SEAsia) Sdn Bhd and Ruane-TATI Sdn Bhd signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration on the delivery of training and certification on the east coast of Malaysia.

Ruane Tati which is based in Kemaman, Terengganu, is accredited by international and national bodies in providing quality and comprehensive training and examination in non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection. With the mission of helping businesses build a productive and successful future, Ruane Tati’s goal is to meet the demands of industry on the east coast by bringing them the opportunity to benefit from the best qualifications available.

Being aligned with TWI’s mission to train the next generation of experts for industry and providing career progression opportunities for its customers, the collaboration acts as a catalyst to upgrade the skillset of residents on the east coast of Malaysia.

The MoU, which was signed by the Chairman of the RTSB Board of Directors, Alias ​​Harun and Deputy Regional Manager of TWI Malaysia, Dietmar Kok, marks the start of a long-term collaboration between both organisations to deliver CSWIP certification for training courses ranging from welding and welding inspection, to painting and coating and non-destructive testing.

In his speech, Dietmar Kok highlighted the importance of this collaboration for TWI since not only is it a part of TWI’s contribution to community development in Terengganu, but it also helps TWI in achieving its goal of harnessing people’s competencies for creating and applying innovative technological solutions.

Starting from October 2020, TWI will be delivering training and examinations at Ruane Tati’s venue in Terengganu using the equipment and facilities available to bring the CSWIP certification to students who wish to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry, which is a major economical vehicle of the state.
