TWI principal project leader, Josh Barras was among the few recipients of the first wave of International Additive Manufacturing Qualification System (IAMQS) diplomas. The award of ‘International Metal Additive Manufacturing Process Engineer Directed Energy Deposition – Laser Beam’ has been presented to Josh by recognition of his skills and experience.
The award was conferred at the I-AM gala dinner held by the European Federation for Welding Joining and Cutting (EWF) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
The IAMQS was created by industry to make sure companies and professionals have the right skillset to implement additive manufacturing (AM)/ 3D printing on an industrial level.
IAMQS offers 11 different qualifications in additive manufacturing, covering the work of coordinators, designers, engineers, operators and supervisors.
