Fri, 09 July, 2021

ISAT and TWI South East Asia collaborate to increase oil and gas skills in Timor-Leste

In a recent agreement between TWI SEA and ISAT Unipessoal Lda, a whole host of TWI’s training and examinations will be brought to the workers in Timor-Leste.

The range of courses includes welding inspection, non-destructive testing, painting and coating inspection, as well as health and safety and environment. The collaboration aims to build sustainable skills and provide specialist training and international certification to the workforce of the country.

Timor-Leste’s economy is heavily reliant on the oil and gas industry, and upskilling local people with the proficiencies required for this lucrative local industry will help to build sustainable skills and trades that will, in turn, support Timor-Leste’s economy and help to navigate the economy towards more sustainable energy solutions.

Tammy Kassiou, the ISAT chair, believes that Timor-Leste requires skilled and competent local people to assist within the gas and oil sector. She is hopeful that the collaboration with TWI is going to integrate workplace learning, online skill development and face-to-face learning for sustainable, long-term student development within every aspect of the mining industry.

Ernesto Moskini, the regional manager of TWI S.E.A., explains how TWI is able to meet the demand of Timor-Leste workers by providing them with specialised training tailored according to the requirements of the local market, “Our unique combination of face-to-face, online and course-style training programmes are all able to be personalised by the ISAT team to offer the very best service to the Timor-Leste community and government.”

Industry Safety Assessment and Training (ISAT) is located at Ribeira Malinamoc, Beduku II, Comoro, Dom Aleixo, Dili and if you are interested to learn more about the scheduled classes in Timor Leste, please visit our training website (www.twitraining.com) and to discuss your training needs and booking on the courses, contact Paulo Soares at info@isat.tl .
